Giant Eagle is one of my favorite grocery stores for their sales. I have been able to save ALOT on groceries with coupon match-ups on sale priced items. They double coupons up to $.99 and up to the item price. The cash register will automatically adjust the coupon down if the doubled amount would be more than the item sale price.
Some tips for shopping Giant Eagle:
Always ask for a Rain Check if a sale item you wanted is sold out. These are issued at the Customer Service counter. No expiration date on these! Just be sure to return to purchase the item before your coupon expires or wait for a new one to come out.
Check your receipt to make sure all your coupons were deducted.
If you did not receive all the Catalinas you expected, head over to the customer service counter to have them check into it. They will either issue you the cash or a Giant Eagle gift card as a substitue. I have also had them process a return on the item(s) I did not receive the Catalina on and re-ring it to get my Catalina if they did not seem to understand what I was talking about.
Remember we couponers usually know more about the sales and Catalina deals than the store employees, so be patient with them.
Try not to clear the shelf on an awesome deal! If you know you are going to want to purchase a large quantity of a particular item, talk to the department manager and request to place an order. When I have done this, it usually comes in within the next day or 2 and they have had it in a shopping cart all ready for me to check-out with my coupons! This will also save you from running around to several stores.

- Register your Giant Eagle Advantage Card® and email address online to receive news, special offers and promotions.
- Create your own shopping list - click on an item in the online ad to add it to your shopping list
- eOffers - coupons that load directly onto your Giant Eagle card (you'll have to register your card number).
Shortcuts.com - Sign up & register your Giant Eagle Advantage card to load more electronic coupons to your card. A "clipped" electronic coupon can only be used once and only on one item. So it's nice to have have this option in addition to the e-offers from the Giant Eagle site so you can have more than 1 of the same electronic coupon if you plan to buy more than 1 of that product.
